1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account on or using the DancyMeals platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform.
DancyMeals is a digital marketplace operated in Cameroon that connects freelance cooks ("Cooks") with customers ("Customers") for meal ordering and delivery. These Terms govern the relationship between you and DancyMeals, regardless of whether you are a Cook, Customer, or visitor.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- One person may hold only one account. Duplicate accounts may be suspended.
3. Platform Services
DancyMeals provides a marketplace platform that enables:
- Cooks to list meals, set prices, define ordering windows, and manage their food business
- Customers to discover meals, place orders, and pay via mobile money
- Communication between Cooks and Customers regarding orders
DancyMeals is a marketplace intermediary. We do not prepare, cook, or deliver food. Cooks are independent operators responsible for the quality, safety, and timely delivery of their meals.
4. Cook Accounts
4.1 Cook Application
To sell meals on DancyMeals, you must apply for a Cook account. The application process requires:
- Valid national identity document
- Business name and description
- Operating location (town and neighbourhood)
- Mobile money account for receiving payouts
Applications are reviewed by our team. Approval is at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to reject applications without providing a reason.
4.2 Cook Responsibilities
As a Cook, you agree to:
- Prepare and deliver meals that are fresh, safe, and accurately described
- Honour all accepted orders within the specified time window
- Maintain accurate meal descriptions, pricing, and availability
- Comply with all applicable food safety and hygiene regulations in Cameroon
- Respond to customer enquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner
4.3 Manager Accounts
Cooks may invite managers to help operate their business on the platform. Cooks are fully responsible for any actions taken by their managers. Manager access can be revoked at any time by the Cook.
5. Customer Accounts
As a Customer, you agree to:
- Provide accurate delivery information when placing orders
- Be available to receive your order at the specified delivery time and location
- Pay for orders in full at the time of placement via the provided payment methods
- Treat Cooks and their representatives with respect
- Submit honest and fair ratings and reviews based on your genuine experience
6. Orders and Payments
6.1 Placing Orders
Orders are placed through the Platform and are subject to Cook acceptance. Once a Cook confirms your order, a binding agreement is formed between you and the Cook. DancyMeals facilitates the transaction but is not a party to the agreement between Cook and Customer.
6.2 Payment
All payments are processed via mobile money through our payment partner, Flutterwave. By placing an order, you authorise the deduction of the order total from your mobile money account. Prices are displayed in Central African CFA Francs (FCFA).
6.3 Commission and Payouts
DancyMeals retains a commission on each order (default 10%, adjustable per Cook). The remaining balance is paid out to the Cook's registered mobile money account. Payout schedules and thresholds are defined in the Cook's business settings.
6.4 Cancellations and Refunds
- Customers may cancel orders within the cancellation grace period defined by the Cook's cancellation policy.
- Orders cancelled after the grace period may not be eligible for a refund.
- Cooks may cancel orders due to unforeseen circumstances (ingredient unavailability, emergency). Customers will receive a full refund for Cook-initiated cancellations.
- Refunds are processed to the original payment method and may take 3-5 business days.
7. Ratings and Reviews
Customers may rate and review their orders. Reviews must be:
- Based on genuine personal experience with the order
- Honest, fair, and not misleading
- Free of offensive language, personal attacks, or discriminatory content
DancyMeals reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines. Cooks may respond publicly to reviews.
8. Promotions and Discounts
DancyMeals and Cooks may offer promotions, discount codes, and special offers. These are subject to specific terms including validity periods, minimum order amounts, and usage limits. Promotions cannot be combined unless explicitly stated.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
- Impersonate another person or provide false identity information
- Manipulate ratings, reviews, or order metrics
- Circumvent Platform processes to transact directly with Cooks or Customers
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform or other users' accounts
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Platform
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users of the Platform
10. Account Suspension and Termination
DancyMeals may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms of Service
- Your account is associated with fraudulent activity
- You receive repeated substantiated complaints
- Your Cook application information is found to be false or misleading
Suspended users may not create new accounts. Pending payouts for suspended Cook accounts will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
11. Intellectual Property
The DancyMeals platform, including its design, logos, and software, is the intellectual property of DancyMeals. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform without express written consent.
Content you upload to the platform (meal photos, business descriptions, reviews) remains yours, but you grant DancyMeals a non-exclusive licence to use, display, and distribute this content on the platform and in promotional materials.
12. Limitation of Liability
DancyMeals is a marketplace platform and does not guarantee:
- The quality, safety, or legality of meals listed on the platform
- The accuracy of Cook profiles or meal descriptions
- That orders will be fulfilled on time or to your satisfaction
- Uninterrupted or error-free service availability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DancyMeals shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
13. Dispute Resolution
If you have a dispute with a Cook or Customer:
- First, attempt to resolve the issue directly through the order chat feature
- If unresolved, file a complaint through the Platform's complaint system
- Our support team will review the complaint and may mediate a resolution
Disputes that cannot be resolved through the platform will be governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Cameroon.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
